Dr Joyce Tan, Paediatrician

Dr Joyce Tan has joined the group of doctors consulting at Mascot Medical. She is a paediatrician who has extensive experience in multiple fields in Paediatrics. She is well trained in all aspects of children's health, but has a special interest in Neonatal / Newborn Health, Eczema, Asthma, Food Allergy and Growth/Nutrition. Please arrange a referral with your regular GP prior to your consultation.

More About Krishna

Dr Krishna Sura has been working as an independent contractor at Mascot Medical since 2016. He completed his medical degree in 2005 at University of Newcastle. He went on to complete a year of surgical training prior to commencing his GP training.


Upon completing his GP fellowship in 2011, Dr Sura undertook a Diploma in Dermatology from the Skin Cancer College of Australia and New Zealand. Dr Sura enjoys all aspects of medicine but has a keen interest in dermatology, sports medicine, travel medicine and sexual health. He has recently completed a primary certificate in Aesthetic Medicine, allowing him to perform anti-wrinkle management.

In his free time, Dr Sura enjoys running, cycling and football. He is a keen listener of live music and can be found regularly attending events around Sydney.

More About Sheila

Dr Sheila has been working as an independent contractor at Mascot Medical since 2019. Dr Uyirwoth completed her medical training in Wollongong, Sydney and Bathurst NSW, with medical degree and a Fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) as a specialist GP. During her training and subsequent years, Sheila underwent additional training in aviation, diving and hyperbaric medicine. At present she is an advanced registrar with the Australasian Faculty of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. She has also completed courses in primary care dermatology (ACD) and  minor surgery (RACS).

 

Dr Uyirwoth is committed to women’s health including cervical screening, contraception advice, including Implanon and IUDs, women’s health checks and GP Shared Antenatal Care (GPSC) with The Royal Hospital for Women and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

Jacky is an Australian trained fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Prior to becoming a GP, Jacky worked across major hospitals in the northern beaches and in a variety of emergency departments across NSW. He is interested in all aspects of medicine and is thorough in his approach. 


He enjoys looking after children and has good experience with women's health having worked in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Westmead Hospital, as well as holding a certificate of Sexual and Reproductive Health. 


He is also very experienced in managing older patients and complex chronic health issues having worked in 4 nursing homes during his rural GP rotations. 


Jacky is also a native Mandarin speaker and takes time to care for patients of all cultural and religious backgrounds. He enjoys food, travelling, technologies, movies and a good story.

Dr Caran has been working as an independent contractor at Mascot Medical since 2018. She graduated from Sydney University in 2013 and trained at St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney. She then worked briefly overseas in emergency. Prior to Medicine, she worked as a pharmacist.


Caran enjoys all aspects of General Practice and enjoys seeing patients from all walks of life, from young to old, with a focus on preventative health. She has a special interest in sexual health, viral hepatitis, addiction medicine and skin cancer. She is an S100 HBV and HIV prescriber, clinical editor and works with other organisations providing sexual health education to GPs.


Caran is multi-skilled: she is accredited to provide GP Antenatal Shared Care (GPSX) with the Royal Hospital for Women, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and St George Hospital; Implanon insertion and removal; has completed the FPAA National Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health; and has a certificate of practical dermoscopy with the Australasian College of Dermatologists. 


In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, musicals, scuba diving and snow-sports.

Dr Brendon graduated from the University of Sydney and is a fellow of the RACGP.

He enjoys all aspects of general practice medicine, in particular paediatrics, men's health, dermatology and family medicine. He completed his training at Hornsby Hospital and is currently completing his Diploma of Child Health at Westmead Children’s Hospital.

Outside of work, Brendon is a keen gardener and has an impressive plant collection. He will be happy to discuss anything pet related, including his two beloved West Highland White Terriers. He also enjoys sports such as tennis and previously trained as a gymnast.

Dr Joyce Tan is a general paediatrician who obtained her medical degree from the University of New South Wales, Sydney. She completed her paediatric training mainly through the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network. 


Joyce has additional expertise in Child Protection. She currently works as a consultant paediatrician at Liverpool Hospital and at Karitane. She enjoys caring for neonates, infants and children with a variety of acute, chronic and complex issues. Her clinical practice is trauma-informed and evidence-based. 


Joyce believes in a holistic approach which is patient and family centred. She strongly advocates for patients and families and champions “The First 2000 Days” for each child to achieve the best possible start in life. Joyce is a conjoint lecturer at the University of New South Wales and an expert content developer for a simulation based medical education game. Dr Santosh Sanagapalli is a Consultant Gastroenterologist who provides comprehensive and holistic care to patients with problems affecting the gastrointestinal tract.


He is skilled in diagnostic therapeutic colonoscopy and gastroscopy. He has subspecialty expertise in the management of oesophageal disorders such as reflux / GORD, hiatus hernia and conditions affecting the swallowing. He practices across the St. Vincent's campus in Darlinghurst and at Mascot Medical. 


Dr Santosh completed his undergraduate medical degree at the University of NSW and clinical training in Gastroenterology at Concord and St. Vincent's Hospitals, Sydney. Subsequently he undertook further subspecialty training in oesophageal disorders during a clinical research fellowship at University College London Hospital, UK, one of London's most prestigious teaching hospitals.
